ArtWALK Walla Walla… Friday guest artist Daniel G. Dunn…
This year Shady Lawn Antiques & Art Gallery has joined the Walla Walla First Friday ArtWalk. We have had original local artwork at SL for several years and the time is right to formally promote our artists.
ArtWALKs are held on the first Fridays of the month (May through December) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The next ArtWALK is this Friday, June 1st.
Leslie Klicker has had her art studio and gallery at Shady Lawn for two years. She specializes in water-color and acrylic paintings. Leslie paints amazing portraits that capture the personality of her subjects. Her landscapes depict the ever-changing colors and textures of the Walla Walla Valley.
We have also been showing Washington State University, Landscape Architecture Professor, Ken Struckmeyer’s architectural/scenic pen and ink drawings for a year. His lighthearted approach to life comes through in works of art that bring a smile to your face.
While we want to highlight the works of our artists, we also want the First Friday ArtWalks to be special events. So each month we present a special – one night only – guest artist. This month our guest is local artist, Daniel G. Dunn. Dan’s specialties include: Floral, Still Life, and Landscape oil paintings. I hope he brings the painting of the solar system where he added ground pieces of a meteorite into his paint…
On ArtWALK Fridays, Trio Vintners owner/winemaker, Karen La Bonte’, will be pouring her wines. Meat, cheeses and crisp flat breads from Klicker’s will also be served.
A glass of wine, a nibble of cheese, and local art hung in the ambiance of Shady Lawn, the oldest (1870′s) wood framed commercial building in Walla Walla… what could be better?
