Oak Reclining Chair & Oak Telephone Table…
This morning I received a phone call from Valerie in Canada. She had seen a picture of a Morris Chair on the Shady Lawn Antiques website and wanted to know if we still had it. It had been sold which is good for us but bad for Valerie.
I told her that we had an oak Chair that reclines when you lean back. I guess that would make it the first lazy boy recliner chair… Valerie asked if I could send her a picture of the chair, so I am posting it on this blog. The chair has been recovered with a leather like vinyl fabric.
I also included the oak telephone stand/side table in the picture. They are both from the same era (circa 1900 – 1920) and have similar turnings on the front legs.
Valerie, thanks for calling me today. I thought that more than one person might like to see the table and chair… thanks to everyone for looking.
We have one of these Oak Tables. Could we please find out the value it sold for? We are in Canada too. The table was brought from Britain in the 70′s.
Ken,
Thanks for looking at the blog. I don’t get into the specific dollars and cents issue on this blog because there are so many variables. Sorry.
