Shady Lawn Antiques is closed until February 2012!
I decided that I would take the week between Christmas and New Years off and just do family stuff. Then I looked at the remaining 2011 Shady Lawn inventory and decided that restocking would be a really good idea.
The month of January will be dedicated to cleaning, repairing and refinishing furniture. My friends Ron (of Klicker’s Antiques), Barry (with items for sale at SL and the Country Store), and I have similar goals. We have therefore entered into a “refinishing” contest — kind of sounds like a reality TV Show doesn’t it?
Each week we will compare what we have accomplished and declare a winner and/or a loser (as in: the loser “buys”…). The “contest” rules are still being worked out. However the current leading criteria is how much value has been added to your inventory by the work that you have done.

I saw Dave come out of the shop yesterday and look around. He must have seen his shadow because he went back in. No doubt for the rest of winter. But it snowed last night and who knows how long this will last?
