Winter Scenes in the Valley of the Two Wallas…
Well, it is Winter here in the Valley of the Two Wallas, even if the calendar says there are still thirteen days to go. There are currently only about eight hours of daylight, the low temperatures are in the 20′s, and the high temperatures are in the 30′s… it is Winter if you ask me!!!
The great thing is that even if the temperatures are brisk, it is still sunny!
We had a great sunrise this morning in Walla Walla and at Shady Lawn Antiques!
This is the sunrise view from inside the SL Courtyard, looking east through the french doors toward Rose Street.
The french door glass windows had frosted over much like car windows do this time of year. Since I had walked to SL, I didn’t have to scrape any (car) windows and I could just enjoy the ice crystals.
It occurred to me that the crystals appeared to form sparkly Christmas type trees. What do you think? Perhaps crystalline images such as these were the original inspiration for decorating Christmas trees with lights and tinsel…
